The campaign is over but the fundraising continues. Rest assured that all donations received on this page will be entirely allocated to 2400 Sourires.
In the streets of Madagascar's capital, 20,000 children, deprived of food, education, health and hygiene, walk the sidewalks of the capital. Every Wednesday, Romain and Séverine take to the streets of Antananarivo to meet them.
On the fringe of society, they come across abandoned and orphaned children, as well as young teenage mothers with their babies. They call these loved ones their "smiles". But these "smiles" hide a painful reality. Selling wrappers, begging as they weave their way through cars, even offering their bodies - these are their daily lives.
The couple founded the 2400 Sourires charity to get them out of this urban hell. In Madagascar, a better future is being built for these children. 2400 Smiles is already a village under construction. Day and night, it will welcome dozens of children who will be able to eat, go to school, receive medical care and sleep in safety.

2400 sourires needs our help to finalize the construction of the village and obtain approval from the Malagasy social services. As trivial as it may seem, bricks, cement, sheet metal, windows, furniture... are what's needed today to start offering these children a future.
There's nothing more beautiful than a child's smile - we can't let the street erase it!
To break the vicious circle of poverty and violence, these children need to be protected and loved, they need education and vocational training, they need care and food... That's what every child deserves, and that's what the Village of Smiles will provide.
On a 9-hectare plot of land outside the city, the association is building a village that will house 40 children by the end of 2023, with the aim of eventually taking in 250. This is certainly a drop in the bucket compared to the more than 20,000 street children in the capital (there were only 2,400 at the start of the project in 2018).

To obtain the approval of the Malagasy authorities, there is still a lot of work to be done:

A tax receipt is issued for each donation, entitling the donor to a 66% tax deduction*.

Arrival in Madagascar
Blocked by covid, the Lagache family will finally arrive in Madagascar in 2021 to start their project to build a village for street children.
November 2021
Starting up the tree nursery
The association aims to plant 100,000 trees a year to help reforest the island, which has lost 90% of its forest cover in 50 years. In addition, the nursery will be used to grow trees for the future village orchard.
February 2022
Start of outreach activities
Every Wednesday evening, the team distributes meals, plays with the children and provides care thanks to the medical bus that accompanies them.
May 2022
The local team is created
An accountant, an agronomist, an architect, a technician... That's it, the Smiles team is complete!
April 2022
Land secured and foundation stone laid
Approximately 9 hectares of land to be levelled, fenced and built on to create the Village of Smiles.
Décembre 2022
The first buildings are emerging from the ground
Reception, well, hall of smiles, 1,600m of fencing... Thanks to the team's hard work, the village quickly takes shape.

Construction of canteen and technical premises
The canteen is the village's living space. It is intended to help rebuild a family cocon for the orphaned and abandoned children Romain and Séverine meet every week.
