Loving Always Saves!
The campaign is over but the collection continues. Rest assured that any donation received on this page will be entirely allocated to 2400 smiles.
In the streets of the capital of Madagascar, 20 children deprived of food, education, health or hygiene, roam the sidewalks of the capital. Every Wednesday, Romain and Séverine walk the streets of Antananarivo to meet them.
On the margins of society, they come across children, abandoned or orphaned, but also young teenage mothers with their babies. These loved ones, they call them their “smiles”. But these “smiles” hide a painful reality. Selling packaging, begging by sneaking through cars, even offering their bodies, such is their daily life.
The couple founded the association 2400 smiles in order to get them out of this urban hell. In Madagascar, a better future is currently being built for these children. 2400 smiles is already a village under construction. It will accommodate day and night dozens of children who will be able to eat, go to school, take care of themselves and sleep in safety.
“We hope that this village will really be a place of life that will allow children to rebuild themselves and enter into a real destiny.”
Romain Lagache
2400 smiles needs our help to finalize the construction of the village and obtain the approval of the Malagasy social services. As banal as it may seem, it is bricks, cement, sheet metal, windows, furniture… that are missing today to begin to offer these children a future.
There's nothing more beautiful than a child's smile, don't let the street erase it!
To break the vicious circle of poverty and violence, these children need to be protected and to be loved, they need education and vocational training, they need care and food… C is what every child deserves and what the village of smiles will bring them.
On a 9-hectare site outside the city, the association is building a village which will welcome 40 children by the end of 2023 with the objective of reaching 250 children in the long term. It is certainly a drop in the bucket compared to the more than 20 street children in the capital (there were only 000 at the start of the project in 2).
But,
Every child taken off the streets is a victory!
Every child who receives an education is a hope!
Every child who is loved, will love like a duty!
